Transform unused rooftops into reliable, clean sources of renewable energy
Solar Laminate PVL-Series
Model PVL-136

Photovoltaic technology has traditionally been limited to rigid panel design. The Solar Laminate PVL series is a new way to look at photovoltaic solutions for the commercial, industrial, and institutional Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) markets. Through the use of fully-adhered, lightweight, flexible PV cells, Outpost Solar offers a renewable generation solution that is not subject to many of the complications of rigid panel rooftop systems.
Solar Laminate PVL series is designed for flat and low-pitch roof installations. The system may be installed on new roofs or integrated as part of re-roof projects. Ideally suited for 16” standing-seam metal roofs, the thin film system is also a great fit for membrane roofs. Outpost Solar has teamed with the world’s leading manufacturer of SBS bitumen membrane roofing material to offer an industry leading, single source warranty for both the PV system and roof.
Flexible cells: more profitable, more practical
The main feature of Solar Laminate PVL is the use of flexible photovoltaic cells, which are superior to rigid panels in several significant areas:
- much lighter weight than rigid panel construction, adding no impact on structural calculations
- higher annual electrical output during less-than-optimal conditions such as cloudiness, snow cover, or if the panels are soiled
- “triple junction” technology, comprised of three superimposed layers of cells, enabling the PV cell to produce the maximum electrical output across the entire solar spectrum
- no shadow area since the flexible cells are fully adhered directly to the roof surface
- rolled nature of the flexible cells means handling is simple and cells are impact-resistant
Installation: a simple, reliable solution with no roof penetrations
- The lightweight cells, in rolled form, are fully adhered to the roof with PV adhesive
- No roof penetrations mean better waterproofing performance
- The electrical network is easily accessible for maintenance
- Single source, 20-year system and membrane warranty available for qualifying installations
- Outpost Solar provides a range of financing options that take advantage of federal, regional, state, and local programs
